I am going to talk about Harry Potter...READ at YOUR own RISK!

I was really, really sad when I read the last page. It all of a sudden occured to me, there was nothing to look forward to now (in terms of Harry Potter, not my life).

I want to start with the few things I didn't like. And by no means did the following ruin the book for me; I was just like, whatever.

1. The scene at the end where Dumbledore explains everything to Harry. I guess we needed it, but it seemed sooo heavy handed.
2. Uh, why didn't Harry, Ron, Ginny, or Hermione name their kid Fred?
3. Speaking of Fred...I was not expecting all the death. Mad Eye, Lupin, Tonks, Dobie, Snape, Fred, and of course Voldemort. Well, I was kind of expecting Voldemort, but there was still a lot of death. I thought Rowling said two characters? LIAR!
4. And going back to number 2, speaking of the future, why didn't she tell us what they do? Who is the headmaster of Hogwarts?
5. Didn't you think that Harry's aunt had something more important to play in the overall story? I mean, I thought that was hinted at in an earlier book.
6. And lastly, I didn't not like this, but when Ron left, I was SOOO angry. I felt horrible for Hermione.

But to move on to what I loved...
1. That when Hermione and Ron finally had their moment (or at least the first one we knew about anyway) that it was kind of steamy. I always knew Hermione had it in her.
2. When Harry summoned his mom and dad and Sirius and Lupin to walk with him to what he thought was his death.
3. The final battle at Hogwarts. It rocked.

I thought it was a good ending overall. I liked how all the major characters from previous books made some sort of appearance.

Don't you think this will make a kick ass movie?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

I will address your comment in reverse chronological order, only because I can totally envision that last fight scene on the big screen. Fucking sweet movie that will be.

I thought the Harry death scene was awesome...I agree that it was powerful that they all showed up.

Dude. When Ron protects the house-elves and Hermione jumps him, I actually giggled out loud. Like you, I totally knew she had it in her. Brains and sex-appeal. What more could you want from your favorite witch?

No, Ron was an arse. I really, really liked this book because it evoked pretty much every emotion from its reader (at least in me). I was so mad at him, as if I really knew him. That's when you know it's a great book.

I TOTALLY agree about Harry's aunt. When the Howler that Dumbledore sends her in book 5, we are lead to believe that she's going to play a larger role. And when Harry goes into Snape's mind at the end, and sees Petunia and Lily together (weird), I thought "here it comes." But it didn't. But on another, related, note: Snape and Lily? WTF! Didn't see that one coming. I was glad this book had predictable moments (like when Tonks goes after Lupin in the end, I thought to myself "Harry will not die because they are going to and he has to be Teddy's godfather), but I was also really surprised by all of the suspense and sudden twists. AWESOME!

YEAH, we find out that Neville (who by the way finally got the credit he deserved...I always knew he had it in him...when he chopped that fucking snake's head off, I cheered!) is a Herbology Professor, I thought JK would take us through where everyone was. But alas, no. Bummer.

Yeah, lots of death. Lots and lots. I actually made a list at one point, haha, cause I was like "DAMN".

And, that's hilarious. Why the hell didn't they name one Fred? I mean, Ron and Hermione's kids are Rose and Hugo (I am assuming for Rubeus Hagrid)...where the fuck is FRED? So wrong...

And I didn't mind that scene between Harry and Dumbledore. It was another part where I cried, actually. I can see what you mean about it being heavy, handed though.

And (haha, how many more times can I say "and"), I was really, really sad when I finished it too. It's weird, like you've lost a little part of what has been making your life good. I looked forward to opening that book and getting involved. I guess that's another reason I am going to read it again right away! ;o)

I just want to finally say that there was some really cool new ideas in there, like the spell in the Lestranges' Gringotts room, when all the images touched mulitply. Fucking cool idea. Oh, and I hated the Goblin -- he totally screwed them. There was just SO MUCH to this book. I like how Narcissa lied to Voldemort...and how the Malfoy's stayed in the Great Hall after V's dead. Nice touch, really. But also cool that they didn't become chummy, chummy. JK stayed true to her characters and I loved that. I love that she gave Dumbledore flaws, serious ones. I love that it wasn't just cookie cutter, that there was another story line with the Deathly Hollows versus the Horcruxes and how Harry "dies." Such amazing suspence. The emotions when all of his friends see Harry "dead" in Hagrid's arm. I'll admit it -- I cried like a bitch.

Ha, I liked that you wrote so much. And I had forgotten about the Malfoys at the end...yes I thought that was good too.

There is actually way more to talk about that was written.

It made me nostalgic. Not only did I go back and read the first one (much easier to get through), but I am netflixing all the movies. I haven't lost my fever yet.
