Humor and Music

Did anyone watch SNL this week and see the Natalie Portman rap. It was pretty funny, but I am afraid that SNL might overplay the funny rap, digital short film. That would take the specialness of "Lazy Sunday" away. A couple of weeks ago, Steve Martin hosted the show and I bet 65% of the show was digital shorts. That means only 35% of the show was live.

There was a short on the Steve Martin show where Steve and a cast member got really close to each other's faces to talk to each other. And I mean close, if they had stuck out their tongues, they would've been making out (on a sidenote, Ashley saw it and said if she was that close to a person, she would get the urge to headbutt them. I told her comedy is a serious profession). It was hilarious.

But "Saturday Night Live" should be...well, I am going out on a limb here and say it should be 75% live. And it should be free of Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers. And maybe a couple of the new guys, but not the "Lazy Sunday" guy.

In other hilarity, last week on "Gilmore Girls," Sebastian Bach of Skid Row (he has a recurring role on the show) was playing at a bat mitzvah and was singing "Hollaback Girl." Now that was funny.

I always forget to watch it. We've been engulfed in 24. We watched 4 hours of it last night. We're part way through Season 3.
