This Is Why I Love Living in New Mexico

Because last night I went to a dive bar in the historical section of town (Billy the Kid was in jail down the street), to see a friend of mine play the banjo in a blue grass band. A woman came in with a ton of cool Obama buttons that her super-delegate friend sent her. She was giving them away.

Then, while outside smoking a cigarette, a group gathered down the block to watch a fire dancer. She had a hula hoop filled with flames and she circled them around her neck, her waist, her arms and her legs. It was awesome. And it would only happen here.

Then today I went on an awesome hike to the dripping springs.

Life is so different here. So wonderfully different.

Sounds amazing...truly! I want a button and to see a fire dancer...but the closest I'll get is if we start a fire in our fire pit and watch the dogs dance around it...oh yeah, it's too cold to go outside. HAHAHA.
