Final Thoughts on a Final Lost for a Loooong Time

I think, if anything, the finale of Lost left me with one main question:

What the flip happened to Jeremy Bentham, aka, JOHN LOCKE?

But I’ll get back to that.

  • Other observations:
  • Walt looks so weird as an adult.
  • Sawyer still looks hot when he’s wet.
  • I hope Michael is really gone now.
  • I hope Jin might still be alive somehow.
  • I really hate that Hurley is crazy. I just feel that he should find some peace. I hope the next two years brings him that.
  • I still don’t like coiffed Sayid. Mess up the hair, brother!
  • Penny and Desmond’s reunion: a tear comes to my eye just thinking about it.
  • I think I like the tough-as-nails, take-no-shit Sun.

Jeremy Bentham?

First of all, why couldn’t they just call him Locke off the island? How did he get off the island? When did he become the kind of man that is a danger to people (i.e. Hurley wanting to stay in the institution because he was afraid)? Is what he saying true? Are the people still on the island being tortured? Who is there to do it? The never-aging eyeliner guy, Richard Alpert?

And why are the six lying to protect those left-behind? Did they learn something that we don’t know yet? Did I miss something? I thought Jack made up the lie to cover the fact that a ship exploded and an island disappeared (which happened before I am assuming…remember the end of season two…when they took Jack, Sawyer and Kate).

Did you all flip out just a little when they showed who was in the coffin? I think I moved my head thinking I might be able to look over the lid to find out faster.

Tell me what you think people!

One more thing I thought of:

Why did Sayid go for Hurley? If he is still working for Ben, could Sayid know about some upcoming danger? Perhaps he knows that they will return to the island and lied to Hurley. Or maybe it was just friendship and a sense of loyalty?

I don't know.

Locke's in the coffin. I just KNEW it was Ben.

Walt looks like Bell Biv Devo...now ya know.

Hurley is crazy to protect himself. He'll be OK back on the island.

Desmond and Penny are too good to be true. Something bad happens there.

Note to self: don't mess with a mad, widowed Korean. Jin is alive and helping Sawyer, I know it.

Since when is Sawyer such a saint?

And, Sawyer better not bang Juliette.

Sawyer is a saint now. Here's my thing: it feels as though everyone has pulled a 360. Like they all kind of act opposite of what they were to begin with. Sawyer's nice, and Jack's slightly unscrupulous. Sayid has gone back to killin and torturing. Hurley helped dupe Kate and Sayid at the beginning of the season, Sun's tough and mean. It's kind of weird.

I TOTALLY moved my head to look into the coffin, haha.

And it's weird, I thought it was Locke all along, but the name thing REALLY through me off. WTF? Why? What's the point? I hope they explain that REAL soon!

And they did (kind of, in a Lost way) explain why they had to lie. Locke told Jack that he HAD to lie to protect the island...to protect it's miracles. And, obviously, Jack believed him. I thought that was pretty significant (but of course, because it's Lost, I don't know WHY it's significant, haha).

Yes, lots of flipflops with the personalities. Sun really fucked with me...gave me goosebumps with her screaming. I also think Jin is alive.

And unfortunately, I agree with Murph...poor Des and Penny are in for a tough time. It was a good finale. I didn't delete it yet. I was so tired when I got home last night that I don't know if I "caught" it all.

You knew it was Locke...what foresight. I almost texted you to say that we have met Jeremy Bentham, we just didn't know it was Jeremy Bentham, then ultimately decided not to, I thought I would give the surprise away.

As for Penny and Des...I guess, I just figured their story was done. They've been reunited and I'm spent. But there is the whole, Ben's going after Widmore's daughter story. I suppose they do have tough times ahead. Ben is a formidable opponent...whom I LOVE.

And Laura...there are tornadoes swirling around every county but my own right now. Conan was just interrupted for a weather update. I just thought I would give you a local weather update.
