An Early Birthday Celebration

Today I celebrated my birthday with my family because I won't be in town for my actual birthday (a week from today if you're counting). I received some sweet cash for my big trip (see previous post for details), a grabber (which is a story all on it's own for perhaps a later post) and a couple of beautiful homeade cards from my nephews.

Of course when Jack and Logan are around, life is much funnier than normal. Like at one point, the boys, my mom and dad and I are in my mom's room. We don't hang out in the living room like, what I would gather normal families do. The boys wrestle and we wonder who's farting. Until one boy starts kneeing the other one in the head and then all the fun has to go and it gets serious.

And then towards the end of the evening, Logan asks if we can light the candles and enjoy some peace and serenity. I love that an eight year old wants to experience that. So they light a bunch of candle and we all end up (finally) in the living room, all the lights off, enjoying peace and serenity.

Until one boy starts kneeing the other one in the head and all peace and serenity flies out the window.
